چکیده

A number of printing errors have appeared in [1] some of which were typos in the original manuscript, and others were introduced during the typesetting. Certain equations appeared only in half, while others were repeated twice. The authors had not had a chance to correct the galley proofs due to their absence from their contact addresses, and unfortunately, these errors went unnoticed until recently. Below we supply the corrections. In defining Huber’s mixture classes in Section II, F0 and F1 should have the respective outlier densities be denoted by h0 and h1. The new outlier densities fh ; , i = 0; 1, represent the aggregate of hi(x) and the probability density function (pdf) of m K (incorrectly called the joint densities in [1]), and have nonzero means. In Section IV, the Gaussian mixture model was considered. Suppose that the outlier pdf g(x) is Gaussian with zero-mean and variance 2 n, where 1. Let fg ; (x) = fh ; (x)jh (x)=g (x), i = 0; 1, which is Gaussian with mean and variance 2 o = 2 n+ 2 . Below we rewrite the equations (17)–(20) in Sections IV–V of [1], with the typos and other problems removed.

Nonlinear Multiuser Receiver for Optimized Chaos-Based DS-CDMA Systems

Chaos based communications have drawn increasing attention over the past years. Chaotic signals are derived from non-linear dynamic systems. They are aperiodic, broadband and deterministic signals that appear random in the time domain. Because of these properties, chaotic signals have been proposed to generate spreading sequences for wide-band secure communication recently. Like conventional DS...

Throughput Improvement of STS-Based MC DS-CDMA System with Variable Spreading Factor

The throughput enhancement of Space-Time Spreading (STS)-based Multicarrier Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access (MC DS-CDMA) system is investigated in this paper. Variable Spreading Factor (VSF) is utilized to improve the data throughput of the system. In this contribution, an analytical approach is proposed to compute a new expression for the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of t...

Robust detection in DS-CDMA

Robust single-user detection is employed in a direct sequence code-division multiple-access (DS-CDMA) system in which the noise process contains impulsive components. The breakdown point is computed for a mixture noise model. The bit error probability expressions are derived under a Gaussian mixture. The performance is also evaluated in the presence of power imbalance and asynchronous reception...

Performance of robust single-user detection in DS/CDMA systems

Robust single-user detection is employed in a DS/CDMA system in which the noise proc(ess cent ains impulsive components. The breakdown point is computed for a mixture noise model. Noise rather than interference is shown to be the primary obstacle in achieving good performance when the signal power is low. The bit error probability expressions are also derived under a Gaussian mixture, DS/CDMA e...

Bit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...

A Novel Multi-user Detection Approach on Fluctuations of Autocorrelation Estimators in Non-Cooperative Communication

Recently, blind multi-user detection has become an important topic in code division multiple access (CDMA) systems. Direct-Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) signals are well-known due to their low probability of detection, and secure communication. In this article, the problem of blind multi-user detection is studied in variable processing gain direct-sequence code division multiple access (VPG D...
